Grafton, Ontario K0K 2G0
Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Open during lunch hour
We have a convenient drop box at above location, for those who need to use it after hours. Please DO NOT leave CASH in the drop box.
We would appreciate it if all taxpayers could provide the "Roll Number" on the front or back of their cheques for quick processing. The Roll Number can be found by searching your bill for a number which begins with "1450".
Payments On-Line
If you are paying on line, the account number the bank is looking for is the 19 digits
(Roll number which begins with 1450, with no dashes, slashes, or spaces to the last 0000 on the Roll number.)
Please Note: If you are paying for the 1st time on line, look for the vendor "Alnwick/Haldimand Twp Taxes, or Haldimand/Alnwick Twp Taxes. Please be sure that Alnwick is in the vendor name, as there is a Haldimand County Taxes, which is not ours. We are located within Northumberland County not Haldimand County.
Late Payment/Interest Charge:
Late payment of taxes will result in 1¼ % charge on balance left outstanding after the due date. Interest is added the first (1st) day of each month on amounts outstanding after due date.
Keep the Township Tax Department informed of any address changes.
If a change in ownership takes place during the year, please forward the tax bill to the party responsible for any unpaid instalments OR return it to the Township Office indicating the new owner's name. It is the responsibility of the property owner to seek out their taxes, whether a Tax Bill has been received or not. In the event you have moved into the Township, the municipality is responsible to forward the tax bill to the property owner shown on our current Tax Roll records as of the date the bills are prepared. Penalty Charges will still apply on late payments, regardless of any change in ownership. The lawyer's Statement of Adjustment included in the sales/purchaser documents usually defines the tax obligation of both the vendor and purchaser. Any address change should be given directly to the municipal office as the post office does not provide the municipal office with "Change of Address Notices".
