- Assisting with enforcement of Municipal By-Laws Zoning of land inquiries
- Enforcement Septic System Permits (in cooperation with the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit) Property Standards
- Pool Permits
- Sign Permits

A Building Permit is required for most renovation and construction projects, including new buildings greater than 107 square feet, additions, significant renovations, elevated sundecks, and so on.
Permit applications and corresponding plans undergo a technical review to ensure that projects comply with the Ontario Building Code and maintain the health, welfare and safety of the public.
A series of inspections and approvals are undertaken during the life of a Permit to ensure work is completed in a satisfactory manner. For a more detailed guide for the information and items which may be required to commence an application please refer to the following Alnwick/Haldimand Home Builder's Guide.
The removal of any structure from lands with the municipal boundaries may require a Demolition Permit, please contact the Chief Building Official for clarification.
