Awards and Achievement in the Community
Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce
2017 “Chairs” Award
Past Chair Tonya King presents the "2017 Chair's Award" to the Council of Alnwick/Haldimand, with a special nod to Chamber Representative Councillor Sherry Gibson.
The "Chair's Award" recognizes an individual, business, group or organization that has made a significant contribution to the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce, and supports us in fulfilling our mandate of being the voice of business.
The Council of Alnwick/Haldimand shares the Chamber's commitment to the business community, recognizes the importance of supporting existing businesses while attracting new commercial investment, is aware of the essential role agribusiness plays in the local economy, and supports the development of a rural based economy. This is a new partnership for the Chamber, and we have every expectation that it will be as long-lasting and mutually beneficial as the relationships the NCCofC already enjoys with so many organizations.
- Tonya King, Past Chair, Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce
In 2015, during our strategic planning exercises our Council and members of senior staff recognized there was an opportunity to improve economic development in the township. The plan was developed and the process has started. Thanks to members of Council, staff, the business people and local residents for their involvement and commitment to lead our community forward. A special thanks to Councillor Sherry Gibson for all her efforts as Economic Development Coordinator and Chamber Representative for our Council.
To be recognized by Past Chair Tonya King for the “Chairs Award” as an organization that has made a significant contribution and supports the mandate of the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce is both humbling and something we will all take much pride of.
John Logel, Mayor, Alnwick/Haldimand Township
