Message from the Chair, Linda Seppanen
On behalf of the Hall Committee of the Alnwick Civic Centre, I would like to express our great appreciation
for the financial support from CANADA 150 to improve the heating system in the Community Room.
The room, a hub for community events, is in almost constant use for a wide variety of events, including the Tuesday Club 39 group of seniors
who meet weekly for a full day and evening programme,
as well as the Northumberland Woodworkers and the Women’s Institute who also meet in the room.
In addition it is used for various local functions including family celebrations, celebrations of life, showers, teas, funeral teas,
some programmes for the Library, and during the Roseneath Fair.
When there is a large number of attendees for Council Meetings the doors from the Council chamber
are opened into the Community Room to accommodate everyone.
With the upgraded heating system, everyone who uses the room is more comfortable
which will undoubtedly increase the already numerous gatherings, to everyone’s benefit.
Updates to the Alnwick Civic Centre Heating system funded in part by the Government of Canada through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program
